Hello everyone. I have decided to come here to the Forum to ask some advice about the possible decision I have made regarding my horses during my pregnancy.
I have two TB's and I can't afford to keep them on part livery whilst I am unable to ride for the next year or so (history of miscarriage prevents this). I didn't want to sell them both and I don't have the time (or energy) to go DIY as I have a very busy home/work/family life.
A friend of mine has offered to take my horses for me and between us have come up with this plan which will of course all be written down and signed in contracts before taking place.
My friend takes my two TB's onto her private yard about 45 minutes from my home. She has Horse 1 on loan with a view to buy so she takes over all costs immediately and then buys him early next year (Jan / Feb time).
Horse 2 she has on loan and her daughter will ride (very experienced 24 year old) but I have offered to pay £200 per month towards his costs and I will also pay for his insurance every month. I will also pay for vaccinations.
What she has said is that she will keep Horse 2 for as long as I need her to and I can visit them both whenever I like.
This to me seems a wonderful compromise as my current monthly livery bill is £800 for the two.
Can anyone see any potential disasters with this (apart form the obvious ones) .....
Thank you ............
