I am loaning my horse out, need to write up a loan agreement, insurance, vets fees, shoeing. Notice of terminating loan. Tack, rugs etc sent with horse. Can you think of anything else? Thanks in anticipation

Use the BHS one, its very comprehensive;

http://www.bhs.org.uk/Horse_Care/Horse_C...0Agreement.ashx

I've used it twice, it covers just about everything you need and has a specific area where you can list the tack and rugs that you are sending with the horse. If there is anything you don't want the loaner to do with the horse, simply include that in the relevant section (I am not allowed to jump Ella in Chase Me Charlies, for example).

As well as arranging the loan agreement, i would make sure you get some proof of ID from the loanee (assuming they are not a personal friend already). Get proof of ID and proof of home address. Ella's owner has a copy of my passport and my council tax bill, so she knows I am a real person and I live in a real house !

BHS one is a good one to base yours on. Only thing to remember, if the loan goes wrong you must have somewhere for your horse to go to at short notice.
