I popped in randomly to check how Murphy was doing today.

The girl who's got him on loan has had him for about 2 months now, I don't interfere at all, infact Im so happy with her that I rarely even think about Murphy - except to know he's happy and being ridden - which is good.

Now today I was in the area so decided to pop in, would you mind - if it was your loan horse (the owner coming down unnanounced to see you both?)

My loanee's are always happy to see me which is nice. I should not think they would mind.
They sometimes pop and see me unanounced with the horses/ponies.
Its nice to have a good relationship. Saves any worrying.
If something happens they soon seek me out.
One man came and asked what would i say if the horse died the other day - the horse is about 110 years old! He was realy worried. I said i would proably ask which one you want next.
Don't worry over nothing

we have a little gelding out on loan, and his loaners say we can pop n any time if we are going past just pop in.

but have to say, we always give a quick ring or txt to say we are going to be in the area tomorrow or whenever, is it ok to pop in. i wouldnt like to just turn up on there yard.

It's kinda different with us - as he is kept at my yard which I have been on for almost a year and a half now, I pop in to say hello to my friends there also so its not like Im eagle eyes watching for thre slightest thing I don't like! But I don't want her to feel like I am - if that makes sense!

Have loaned once - the owner came down whenever he felt like it and was great - ended up giving me the horse!

I later loaned out the same horse but he stayed on the yard I was on and I booked the farrier, vet, dentist etc at the same time as my other horse to make sure he was always done (the loaner paid for it though).
