Hi all - new to H&H so sorry if i seem to go on a bit of a tangent or don't post enough or post anything inappopriate but I am having some problems trying to find a loan horse i.e. ads out of date, people not getting back in touch, stuffy owners - so wondering if anyone can give me some advice
I am not fussy at all over the horse, I am just looking for a fairly forward going, lovely boy or girl that I can take care of and hack out on and to continue lessons privately (regular but maybe fortnightly or monthly). Times/Days: one weekend day and one evening a week (ideally with morning turnout), or even just the weekend.
Totally expect to contribute and do all the usual yard tasks and mucking out (practice makes perfect or so they say!) - I volunteer at my local horse sanctury every fortnight, so am used to 4hrs on the trot of being up to my elbows in it.
Price shouldn’t be too much of an issue (within reason), as long as I get the right horse (and, dare I say it, the right owner).
I am based in Brentwood, Essex and after suggestions of where to look other than the usual websites for loan horses. Wondering what the best course of action is to take? Do people actually respond to Wanted ads on websites like horsehunter or horsetoloan etc?? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!
