Loan Home

I am looking for a loan home for my 21 year old gelding, where is the best place to advertise, this fab dressage horse, who loves jumping to, although is looking for a quieter life now, possibly as a happy hacker who likes dressage, and doesnt live a million miles away!

Aww he looks lovely! I put my horse out on loan a few months ago. In fact I like the yard where he is so much that I moved my current horse there too! Anyway, I advertised my horse in the local tack shop, the riding club website and Horsemart. I had no idea about how much interest I would get. Just to warn you, you will probably get loads. I seemed to spend ages replying to emails or taking phone call enquiries. You can tell the unsuitable/ time waster sorts straight away (of which there is always a few isn't there!). I know loaning has a bad reputation but my horse is treated like a King in his loan home and his loaner is a fab rider who has really clicked with him. My current horse is on loan to me and she is a lovely sort and her owner is very easy to get on with so there are good stories too!!

Oh, out of all the places I advertised the person who now has my horse replied to the advert in the tack shop and in fact was only about 3 miles away!
