I have been asked by someone if I would be interested in a sharer for my TB. I'd not been interested in one before but this girl is a friend of the other woman at the yard (there are only 4 horses/ponies there. She would only want 2 days a week and not weekends apparently adores my boy so I am going to meet her tonight - what would you say is fair to charge her. It costs me about £170-180 a month to keep him?

Thanks

Hello
I guess you could ask her to pay a small amount to your bills. Maybe one pays for the food .etc and the other pays for the stable charge.

In the region of £20-25 a week, perhaps with a contribution to shoes each time?

You think it would be fair to ask for over half of the cost of keeping the horse for 2 days a week riding?!

I think asking for a contribution would be fair, possibly £15 a week?

Personally I would only ask for a contribution towards the shoes but then I am probably soft. Wouldn't ask for more than £10 pw to be honest ,depends really on how much you ride him as well.

I agree with Dixie. If she's only going to ride him 2 days a week I would probably just ask for a contribution towards his shoes. I have a teenager who can come and exercise my old horse whenever she likes and I wouldn't dream of asking for any money off her, I suppose I'm just pleased for the help. You're in a different situation in that you weren't wanting help, but someone is in love with your horse! Maybe £10.
