Loaning a horse from your own yard -dressage

I think there will be many people interested in an advanced horse but most will either have their own yard or own trainer and want to continue or not be up to riding it anyway, if the yard has established clients already training and based with them you will be more likely find someone but as you are asking that is probably not an obvious option.
There are often wanted ads on HQ/ BD looking for a horse at that level, it would be the best place to start so you can be in the position of knowing they are seriously looking, should have references etc in place ready for you to check out before getting in too deep.
It sounds like a great opportunity for a good young rider looking to move up the levels, a lease could be an option which may give you extra commitment from the riders to keep him where you choose as part of the deal.

Thanks BP - how does a lease work?

Much the same as a loan but with the owner getting an annual fee, it can be well tied up legally and probably gives you more control than a loan with no money involved, friends of mine leased a pony for 4 years the paperwork was extremely detailed with what they could, or could not do, all signed and done through a lawyer, I just feel as there is a fee involved if anything goes wrong it could hold up more legally. It is unusual over here but apparently very common in the USA.
