Because Samson is lame I am considering getting a horse on loan. However I want what everyone wants

15.2 to 17hh for riding club to include SJ DR XC

To move to my yard

I am in my 40's so especially want something sane, but not a plod

I am guessing it will be like trying to find a needle in a haystack???

Oh and where is the best place to look

Newrider is good. StableTalk as well

HorseQuest always has lots.

Hmmm. I have been looking for that sort of thing myself for a long time and it's a rare find. But if you are moving to your own yard it's possible and easier than finding a part loan. If your height can go down to 15hh as well it's quite a lot easier I found.

Word of mouth can produce amazing results too. Let local horsey people know what you're looking for and you never know, something might turn up.

I was in a similar situation- looking for something 15hh+, sensible for hacking and light work and to keep my primary horse company- given that I'm quite remote, I'd all but given up finding something to loan but then out of the blue a friend told me last week about a horse not too far away that was looking for a long term loan home and hey presto, he arrives tomorrow.

I did advertise on Free ads but had no response but there were a few ads on there that I was considering phoning up about.
