What type of insurance do i need?
Any suggestions for insurance providers that give those who loan a horse insurance. I've seen rider's insurance but can't find what i am after. Thanks for any replies.

I had a very good quote from kbis. I looked for death, theft and straying and also vets fees. loss of use wasn't worth it and everything else I get through the business or through being a member of BD

Is the horse on full loan? I just insured mine with the company I had my existing horse and the trailer with (at the time was Equestrian Direct but moved the latter two to Amtrust Equine in March and will move loan horse to them at renewal time too).

I have him insured for minimum value as his owners put no value on him, so £1000 I think (if I remember rightly Amtrust will let me insure him for £500). Also have vets fees, 5K per incident with £120 fixed excess, death, theft, straying, rider insurance, third party up to either £1m or £10m. My vets fees covers hospitalisation and alternative therapies if recommended by my vet.

Costs me £34 a month (9 month's payment for 12 month's cover).

Call all the usual suspects - I had quotes from ED, Amtrust, KBIS and NFU.

ETA - I had to give more info than for my own horse's insurance. They wanted to know who his owners are, their address and a contact phone no, plus other info that related to the owners.
