Hi,

I'm new on here but have been looking on the forums for a while reading etc.

Whenever i ahve put ponies out on loan I have always sent them with full wardrobe and tack, paid for insurance and had the BHS loan agreement signed by both myself and the loaner? (is that a word?). I have always ammeded the agreement to say that I will pay for all veterinary treatment unless it is required due to negligence of the loaner.

make sure you have a signed list of everything that came with the pony and what condition it was in and what happens if tack gets damaged etc. Ususally it is expected that damaged tack will be replaced but not rugs-though once I sent a pony with a really cheap turnout and she came back with a Fal! lol....I didnt complain!

Also make sure that in the contract it says who is responsible for paying vet treatments, what the pony can and cant be used for. Just be sure that everything is covered so that you can cover yourself, I have never ahd a problem with ponies on loan but you hear so many stories that I think as either the loaner or loanee?? you need to make sure each party knows exactly what the other expects.
