My firend is cusrrently supposed to be loaning my dartmoor pony along with here sister for their 2 kids in exchange for a samll amount of money and help with mine. However i think the novelty has worn off as her sister hasn't been up for about 4 months, neither of them pay anymore, my friend does still feed mine 2 morns a week but she does the bare minimal and never touches the pony. therfore think im going to have to knock it on the head. But to advisertise him and do it more officially was looking for some advise on weather you think this would be a good deal for someone. he is a 12.3h chesnut dart pony, 4 years old, broken and lightly ridden (hasn't done much unfortunatley due to the above reasons) he is really nice looking pony (a little tubby atm) willing to learn but green and very sharp -typical little pony, like a miny TB and would be great at mounted games or something in the right hands, he does have sarcoids which i am currently treating but for this reason he couldn't be shown. He is kept in my rented field along with my sec d and shire, we have shelter but all my horses live out by choice, running water and 3000 miles of off road hacking. I would be looking for £60 per month to include everything, no hidden costs which is cheaper than a lesson a week for 1 child, but the only difference to normal loan is i would like shared duties, as in someone to feed all 3 in a morning and i would do all including pony evenings and weekends so they can come and go as they please the rest of the time and aren't tied to come up after school in the winter or at weekends if they have plans etc. so anyway what do you think?

I have no idea if this is reasonable or unreasonable, but to compare, my daughter rode a SecA for a lady last year.
Pony lived out but we had no chores unless she went away for a day or two as she preferred doing her horse herself, and paid £50 a month + half shoes (as she had to be shod on the back as well as the front with the extra road work she was doing down to our house and back 3 or 4 times a week). We used to get her in the mornings, and take her back home, where she was ridden in our field (to save her grass) and returned later in the day, she was ridden after school daylight permitting, and we also took her to shows, we could come and go as much or as little as we wanted. However we are too suburban - had almost no off road hacking other than a few bits you can scoot into with a Sec A that you can't with a bigger pony!

Daughter also sometimes rode for another lady, another Sec A who was a bit naughty and needed a comptent rider, we just came and she rode, no money no chores although I used to help the lady out with bringing in/putting out mucking out, haynets and water for her ponies for something to do to pass the time, and once or twice did them for her when she was ill.
