If you had text your loaner and she hadn't replied after 24 hours would it be acceptable to text again? Being a worrier I automatically conclude that something is amiss with my horse? Just to add I rarely text or visit but wait for news.

no news is good news.. but yes.. sure text again.

Me and Ted's loan mummy are good friends so rarely a day goes by when i dont get a text or ring each other.

I always email the person who has my horse so I don't feel im invading!

Works well for us

we can pick up the emails when we like and not feel we have to reply straight away

Follow your instinct.

Ring and say something like 'Just wondered if you got my text, wasn't sure if you might have changed your number or just not recieved it so I thought I would ring....'

I would call her. My Welshy is out on loan and although I rarely visit I do expect an answer if I call/email/text. Thankfully my loaners are fab, send me regular updates and ask me regularly when am I going to go and see them (oh, and the horse!) again. When he first went to them I got a daily update, then every few days, once a week and now it's just every couple of weeks. I email or call them if I'm concerned, or if I just think it's been a bit too long.

Equally my mare's owner texts me every now and then and I always reply immediately.

However...they might have lost their phone?? Do you have a landline number you could try?

I have the opposite problem!! I cant usually get hold of loan horses owner!!

I would ring personally far quicker and sure they are probably like me and leave their mobile at work for the weekend (DOH...)GRR

Do you have a home number also?
