My cousin has a horse that suffered with hayfever bad last year. Had vet out and they recomended a suppliment to help but we don't think it made a huge amount of difference. Someone suggest using locally produced honey through spring and summer. They had tried it on their pony and had helped alot. Has anyone else tried this? What has been your experience? And how much did you feed ect

Many thanks in advance

Posted in feed board aswell sorry if thats not allowed didn't know which was best really!

No experience with horses but do know of friends who have used local honey to help their hayfever so it can work. No idea on amounts to use but once you've found a local beekeeper they may know someone who does.

Thankyou. I have found somewhere that sells local honey. Also emailed the local beekeeper association. I guess if we give a good spoonfull a day to start with and see if that makes a difference. I wonder aswell if its best to feed in the morning as pollen levels higher thro the day.
