Hi all, I want to show my boy this year he's an 8 year old new forest x appaloosa, he's white with brown spots on him. I was just wondering what I need to wear when showing him? I want to do coloured classes with him along with handsomest gelding and things. I've heard if your horse has light coloured legs you should wear dark trousers? If anyone can give me any indication on what to wear I would be most grateful!

Turn him and then yourself out according to his type

Assuming he isn't a show pony/hack type then for in hand you would wear tweed jacket or a waistcoat, trousers in a colour that will show his legs (so if he has light legs then trousers need to be fawn or darker really so chocolate, navy or green trousers would be the norm) if he has dark legs then beige or cream trousers though sometimes you see yellow/corn coloured cords

Shirt and tie are normally correct

for ridden you would wear in my opinion tweed jacket (hacking jacket) with canary jods and fawn gloves / any other colour except for black and white (black if for mourning and white is too bright against tweed) Coloured shirt with a tie matching the colours in your hacking jacket. :)
