Right, after spending a bomb yesterday and falling out with my OH who thinks I am totally bonkers, I am now armed with:

Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe Vera Juice
Sulphur
Piriteze
and Valerian

So hopefully this summer will be less itchy, scratchy and hyperactive than last year...thanks to all on here who offered suggestions for the baldy boy and the loopy lady over the past few months, I am sure you are bored with all the updates already.

Wish me luck - and yes, all cross-checked with my vet, who also thinks I am nuts.

If you have a happy dog all summer, who cares! And I bet if it works the Vet starts recommending it

I used Aloe Vera gel to soothe a horse that reacted to bites - and it worked he definatley found it soothing so

It's good for sunburn in people too!

Fingers crossed he is happier than last year, oh please!

Yeah, she told me to let her know how I get on, she has another patient on Piriteze and aloe vera so at least I am not the only crazy hippy that attends her practice

I used the gel on him (dog!) last year and he loves it, this is my first attempt at adding the juice to food and he just kinda looked at me like 'Is this supposed to be my brekkie? You've ruined it!'

Good idea re the OH......he just spent £400 on a feckin mattress, so he is no one to talk!

Where are you buying your aloe from?

I'm an agent for forever living and even buying it in at reduced prices is expensive. we now get ours through holland and barrett online. they have an offer on most of the time and it is just under £5 for a litre bottle of juice. It comes either with or without cranberry. I have fed Bear both and he just tends to get on and eat it.

The gelee, vet spray and propolis cream from forever living are excellent though and well worth the money.

^^I got the cranberry and aloe juice on special offer in H&B, TE - I thought the added ingredient might assist with his waterworks issues (as an aside, I also checked if the Piriteze might be a bad thing, but the vet said it should be fine given it is only a small dosage)

I will def look you up next time I buy

SU, thanks for your wishes, he is certainly in better form than he was this time last year.

MM - MFH_09 suggested that, am putting a bit in his water. My Mum is going to be mad when she comes back on Sunday and sees what I have done to the medicine cabinet
