Anyone heard of this private members club?

I'm looking into going to one of the social nights that they offer but just wondered if anyone had any reviews.

Thanks very much.

Yes, they came down bedgebury to use the school for lessons with their trainers. They seem nice but wear very expensive clothes for a hack in a forest. ;)

I used to be a member (before I bought my own), although I never went on any actual events with them - I just used to go to the fox club for drinks. Was good fun to talk horses with likeminded people in London for a bit. If you want more info PM me - I can tell you about the "riding test" they make you do.... Very odd.

Amycamycamyc please could you pm me too? I've been thinking about joining but in two minds about it, didn't think to ask on here!

Yes - I joined the club last year after moving to the city for work and having to sell my horse. I was completely heartbroken and of course assumed that it would be months until I so much as saw a hay net again, until I read about The Riding Club London in a magazine.

I can honestly say that it has been a complete saviour to me (mainly mentally..!) - they have riding events/clinics on most weekends covering all different spheres of riding, lessons during the week, weekends away, trips to the big shows and of course socials that are really great fun. Everyone is really friendly and they do have a pretty diverse variety of members based on who I have met so far. Also, as well as their set riding diary they will also organise any sort of riding that you fancy doing and it's really easy to find a riding buddy to join you too.

I think the riding test amyc is referring to is their assessments - not sure why yours was odd (mind was a standard lesson!) but I do know that they no longer do them.

Feel free to message me if you want to know more :)

Does anyone know if there are any other clubs like this in other parts of the country? Of course there are riding clubs, but i'm talking about exclusive members clubs? Just wondering how poopular it would be. I'm currently looking for am equestrian niche for my yard :-) Or perhaps it's just popular for people who work in the city and don't have their horses with them...We are based near Cardiff.

I'm also a member, following selling my horses and moving to London for work.

I think its great, but I guess its what you make of it; I try a lot of different things and try and ride at least once per fortnight, across various activities. Its great for me, but then I don't mind paying for lessons etc as its far cheaper and more convenient for me than owning a horse.

I personally didn't think the riding test was odd - they simply made me attend a flat lesson at one of the establishments they use. Well below my abilities but they didn't charge for it, it was just so that they can find out how competent you are, which makes sense before they send you to an event beyond your capabiliites. But I actually don't think they do it anymore, but I could be wrong about that.

I'm not sure how it would work out of London, as the point is that sourcing good riding is difficult; in more rural areas I assum thats not as difficult, and its far easier to own your own horse.
