I'm looking at buying a welsh D with the 'London' prefix, has anyone had one of theirs and any feedback please? Or alternatively Hillgarth? I'm looking for something to show.

For showing purposes you really need to look at the animal in front of you rather than the prefix.

Look for a stud that is breeding the type you like.
I love the Menai Cobs personally but there is so much choice out there.

As above. Also what sort of showing you want to be doing as that really does matter. If your aiming at the WPCS medals then a more traditional stocky type is generally preferred, but NPS (think HOYS qualifiers) you need a sportier type. Have a look at competitors from previous years in the classes you want to aim for.

Also bare in mind that showing is really a few Sundays through out the year, but you have to live with this animal 24/7/365 so behaviour/temperament is important too. For example do you really want something on it's toes every morning for turnout, snorting like a dragon with it's tail over it's back in the middle of winter knee deep in mud trying to navigate a gate way.

I have a horse by London dun to perfection who was born at Hillgarth.
He has won at county (small class) inhand. He only has one white so not typically showy. Lovely paces. I'm not really a showing person though.
Lovely temperament and very affectionate.
