Hi all, wondering if I can pick your brains. I'm looking for a pair of long black leather boots (not casual ones) for dressage ans showing - only problem is every pair I try on in shops don't seem to fit. I just bought a pair of sherwood forest moreton boots in short/ wide on eBay but they are far too wide (and an inch too short), my just togs medium wide field boots are too narrow but the right height. I would love a pair of ariat bromonts but ariats are too long and narrow (apart from my grasmeres which I love).

Any suggestions? My calves are 38cms or 15 ins wide, I take a size 4/5 ( depending on the fit) and I am prepared to brace it out for a longer pair to drop behind the knee... Please!!!

Have you tried the Ariat Bromonts? I was having trouble finding a pair to fit my calves. Not exactly sure what size my calves are but I was certainly not blessed with long slim legs! :o

I've found the bromonts are a good fit and really comfy! They look smart too.

Mountain horse - they do short/wide in most styles - I have wide calves and they are v comfy - whatever boots you do have will usually drop a bit - my mountain horse hit back of knee when walking for couple weeks (but always great to ride in) but have now dropped and are perfect length (I am in standard length and I am only 5ft 4)

If your calves are only 15" you may get in their standard width as they do give a bit - try ebay - you can always re-sell them on there if they dont fit.

Shires Norfolk boots come in regular and short height, and have lots of width options (range from 32-42cm!). They're only about £120, too, and look quite smart. I'm not sure of the quality (maybe someone else will know how good they are?) but I'm thinking of getting some myself. x
