Long boots for short people

So after an unsuccessful trip to my local tack shop I've discovered I have ridiculously short stumpy legs. All the regular boots were about an inch too long and only the wide fit would do up. (Seriously, I never realised boots were only made for giant twig people, I'm not *that* short and my calves aren't *that* wide!)

Does anyone know any decent tack shops in the Leeds area that might stock short sizes?

Or recommend a good brand I could try online?
 
Deffo recommend Mountain Horse high rider.

I wear them in short length, wide calf. Easy to get hold of on the net.

I went into a tack shop wearing them and the owner (miserable elderly woman) said to me 'you must have had them custom made - size of your calfs!'

I am a size 16/18 so a chunky calf but nowhere near custom made size!! I also have a short lower leg and these boots are perfect! Everything else I tried on covered my knee and restricted movement. I have just started on my second pair - first pair lasted 9 years!

The only show boot that I have found to fit (without massive expense) is the Shires Norfolk, short leg xxl calf.
 
I would second Mountain horse High Rider - i am only 5ft 4 but wear the standard height which did hit back of knee to start off with but they are now perfect length. I have the wide but they are not tight at all and I can get thick socks and jeans in them ! if you are not that wide in the calf you will probably get away with standard width !
 
love mountain horse and also have a pair of equitechtor for hunting, they were a little tall to start with (only for walking in not riding) but have dropped a little now so easy to walk in but dont look 'dropped'.
 
Another vote for the Mountain Horse hi rider, I'm 5ft 3 and they don't get in the way when riding. Didn't take too long to break in either!
 
The rimfrost come up a bit bigger IME - the quality is NOWHERE near as good as the leather boot. My rimfrost lasted two winters :(

It would be worth saying that the foot in the high rider does tend to come up big IME, I am a size 6.5 -7 in a regular trainer/shoe and my 6.5 high riders are a bit on the roomy side. I would go half a size smaller than your usual.

Was anyone else the same?
