Sure this has been done to death but can anyone recommend any long boots that don’t cost the earth for very wide calves (45cm) but small ankles.

I’ve ordered a pair of fuller fillies which are no good as yes I can fasten them but then they are so baggy on my ankles I’ve struggled to ride in them.

Thank you if anyone can help as losing the will to live!

From a similarly proportioned person I found a great fit with a pair of tuffa brecklands, I did also find some from equitector that should have fitted too but preferred the price tag of the tuffa’s.

Maybe too expensive but I wear Equitectors. Got my latest pair in a sale at about half price so you can find a bargain sometimes. It tells you on the website how to measure and what size will fit you.

Have you tried the Rhinegold Luxus boots? Mine were a fraction long to begin with but the leather is so soft they didn't rub & very quickly dropped anyway. As a guide I take a short wide fitting in Ariat long boots which are fine with normal breeches & the Luxus come up a bit longer (but dropped within 15minutes of walking around) & width 3 meant I could easily zip them up with a thick pair of long socks over breeches & I reckon I'd have no trouble fitting thermal leggings under too.

I'm interested in trying these but don't know if they would fit my calf. Do you mind if I ask how wide your calves are? Mine are 17.5 and 18 inches (odd legs!) and I'm desperate for a pair of long boots to support my sore ankle

Ooh just messaged rhinegold earlier and they are bringing out bigger calf sizes at the end of January 😁

In that case I'd hang on because the Luxus are very nice for the price. I measured my calf with everything on and it's about an inch less than yours, and while I suspect they'd easily stretch to fit you it seems silly taking the chance if they're bringing out a wider fitting in January.

Thank you, going to wait patiently and hope they don't put the price up 😁
