Can anyone recommend me any long boots that are on the slim side or have that as an option? I literally have stick legs and I'm wanting some boots that I can do everything in so ride and for around the yard. Recently bought some Toggi Canyon country boots with regular calf and they were ridiculously wide on my legs. Don't have a huge budget but willing to pay a little more for a decent pair!

Ah, my two suggestions are both fairly pricey but they are Ariat Bromont field boots or Donatello field boots... Ariats are £245ish and Donatellos £199. I have long skinny legs (about 13.5" around the widest part of my calf) and the Bromonts fit very nicely. Donatellos come in a huge range of sizes both height and calf width so you should get some to fit. I gave up trying to get yard boots to fit me - all of them ended up flapping around my calf and collecting hay! My foot wear = Glaciers for every day hacking/mooching around yard when not too hideous (that is a concesion to their age - going into their 4th winter I am treating them a bit more gently), Bromonts for schooling/shows, and cheap aldi muckers with farmers waterproof trousers over the top for tackling the mud etc. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, both those boots look fantastic but just too nice for what I do (I'm a happy hacker). My situation is literally horses in a field with a shelter so no fancy yard (or even hard standing) so it needs to be something thats 100% water proof and will survive being dragged through mud everyday but then also suitable for riding. Looks like my search will be a long one...

Then the Glaciers, as I say, expensive but I bought mine December 2010 and they were my only riding boots/yard boots for a good chunk of that time: so they've done a good innings! They still have most of their structural integrity (bar some lifting rubber due to doofus horse standing on them where the water is just starting to seep in) and that is with them being well and truely used and abused. Beginning to sound like an Ariat sales person so going to stop now! Enjoy your hunt.

My daughter had to wear a pair of leg warmers to help keep her boots up. She wears the Ariat Grassmeres. I think its just one of those things i'm afraid. :(.
If you do find a pair let me know tho.

Ariat Grasmeres for yard boots (laced up as tight as they will go), riding boots are Shires Norfolks in the XS calf, or Brogini's if you fancy splashing out, again in the smallest calf size.
