Long boots with or without laces?

Which do you prefer?

Competition boots with the laces at the front or without?

I've never considered ones with laces before but am seeing them everywhere.

Ive always considered without laces more correct for dressage, is this the case?

i have boots with laces as i have crap ankles! - need the laces to help flex the ankle. I think they look smart

I prefer plain boots.

i think the one's with laces look smarter by thats just my opinion, but do they actually have a use or just for look??
