My 5 year old MH Long riding boots finally gave up the ghost in the autumn....I could cope with the water getting in but when I started to be able to feel the wind I finally admitted they had to go. Running a bit low on money, I decided I could make do with my short boots and chaps, and wellies whenever not in the saddle (its a bit muddy at our yard!).

But changing into short laced boots and chaps is really irritating me, so I'm going to have to get a new pair of long (either pull on or zipped) boots! Plus its tricky getting the mud off my chaps as they aren't particularly waterproof.

SO, should I go with my old favourites, the MH high riders, which I would imagine are still just as comfortable as they were when I bought my last pair, and have seemed to be very durable. Or, does anyone have any other suggestions? I'd like to spend as little as possible but have a birthday coming up so could spend up to about the price of the MH ones - about £130 I expect!

Any suggestions??

Hi, Gallop have a boot in their range which is very like the Mountain horse boot and is usually priced about £50. They are full length, leather and zip up the back.
