Long leather riding boots for dressage... any suggestions?

I am thinking of buying some new long leather riding boots to compete BD in as mu Mountain Horse ones are crippling me because they have folded near the ankle and keep rubbing in that area.

I would like some that are going to be used for quite some years as I move up the levels...

I looked at those at Derby House the other day, but they are SOOOOO expensive

I just can't afford something at that price at the moment (or for quite some time)
 
I used to have a pair of Dublin zip up ones which I absolutely loved - they were soo comfey, and really shiny too - everyone thought I polished them every time I rode! They stopped doing them for a while when I needed new ones, so ended up paying about £80 more for boots which arn't as good, then Dublin started making them again 3 months later - I was not impressed!
 
I have the same problems with my MH everyday boots.

I have Konigs for Comp work. There absolutly fab, although mine don't fit atm as ive gone from a size 16 to a 12 didnt think about having to have my beloved Konigs altered when i started my diet lol. So im back with leather gaiters & jod boots until i get enough money together to send them back to Germany.

I sold my Sarms to get my Konigs, Sarms where nice but they did drop i personally didnt like the way they looked & felt when riding in them after they had dropped. But they are a nicely made long boot.
 
I have the Sarm Hippiques too, really nice and soft. Also have my old pair of Cavallos here! What size do you take?!!

Sergio Grassos all the way.

I had some Mountain Horse ones for home and they were the most uncomfortable boots Ive ever worn.

depends what you like but I have scrawny ankles and like the stiffer type of boots.

Got a lovely pair of petrie's off ebay recently, barely out of the box for £80 and was really pleased with them although I still covet a pair of Konigs!
 
Well becuase im posh (not)I have two sorts- Cavallo (not keen) and Sarm Hippiques but I would go for Konigs when mine need replacing- I used to work in a shop so got a disc, so ended up with another pair of boots.
