If all goes to plan I should be collecting my new loan pony on Tuesday :D

She is broken to drive and ride so I was thinking about doing some long lining with her. What equipment would I need for this?

Thanks :D

Not much! Two lines, a bridle and either a roller with rings half way down or your saddle :) I use my saddle. I pull the stirrups down, tie them together under the belly with an old leather, put a line through each and off we go :)

How exciting about the new pony!

^^^ exactly what Jesstinsel said! I find two lunge lines too fiddly do use driving reins, but other than that I either use a roller or put the reins through the stirrups.

Oh go on... Has her owner got harness and cart or carriage?? Have a go- it's great fun!

Thanks, are the lines just normal lunge lines? Didn't think of using the saddle but that sounds like a good idea lol.

I've known her for years and she is the perfect horse for me! A safe 'plod' but with a second gear if I decide I want more oomph lol

She probably has but she's in Yorkshire and I'm in northants lol so I can't, I have driven before though and agree its great fun! I think I'll use lunge lines to see if I like it and then get some driving reins if I do :D.
