Well, my friends mum has been given a pony by a friend to sraighten out and sell on.

This is a very very pretty welsh chestnut mare. She is only 8/9 years old and was bought as a show huntery type for a LOT of money for small useless child (SUC). SUC annoys pony riding liuke a sack of potatoes landing hard on it jumping, basically turns pony into nervous wreck.

SUC's mummy gives pony to friends mum. It is 14.2Hh and will just flip while my friend is riding it. My friend is an excellent rider but she is VERY correct and chestnut mare does not get on well. She gets on pony pony stands up in the end, my friend has to strap head down to be able to ride etc.

there is nothing wrong with the pony, SUC's mum had every back person, vet, saddler or dentist out to find a cause.

I have been riding her and she is much better with me but still a handful, tried jumping her today and she is a machine really enjoyed herself, going to try a course tomorrow!

so does my friend (who is sick of pony now as small devil pony hates her)...

a) sell her for peanuts i.e.£1000 if they're lucky to local pony producer.

b) Put her on project horses.com for someone else to mend for a bit more money

c) risk it and compete her hoping a CAPABLE child would love a proper (if slightly mental) jumping pony. and sell her for a few more £ to a home that may encourage what devil pony enjoys.

POny cannot stay friends mum is emigrating this year. Any money made will be given to SUC's mum.

If there is nothing physically wrong with it then obviously it's a psychological thing. In which case I, personally, I would feel never suitable for a child, especially withit being at to going up.
Project horses.com, it could end up in the wrong hands. End up being brought for a child and do harm.
Compete it,... why waste the time? She is making nothing from it, and if a horse and rider don't gel...it could make things worse.
Personally i would sell it to someone who specialises in this kind of thing, a producer or somewhere. Where it will be ridden by adults and given time and expertise. If they then decide it's unsafe, then they will have to make the decision.

At 14.2hh there is no reason why she has to be for a child, alot of adults love a slightly mental pony!!

Trouble with putting it on a site like PH or selling for peanuts (unless the producer/someone you know is highly experienced and competant) is that she could end up with numpties for owners who over rate their ability.

I personally would be tempted to compete pony to get her into the swing and already doing things, get her potential more proven, and then try and sell to a capable older child/small adult (who is fully aware of what she's capable of doing, and who is totally capable of dealing with pony)

My friend has asked if i would compete her, friend's mum is worried pony may make a scene at showyard and be seen by people who may buy, i feel that it has to be seen doing something or no-one will buy it.

Obviously will be a point to consider that pony could make a scene! But also (if it was me!) I would consider that, if prospective buyers are to be told the truth, then maybe pony playing up isn't such a bad thing. People put off by the bad behaviour would have no place actually buying the horse in the first place. Better for all concerned to be honest about pony as is than playing it down in order to sell it, and waiting for whoever buys it to find out for themselves to what extent the behaviour can get!

At 14.2h I would have thought that she could take a small capable adult rather than risking her with a child.

I would try passing her on by word of mouth through RC/PC etc
