When i say first time, i meant i tried about 2 years ago and he buggered off with me 
I was just going to lunge him in his bridle, then ended up putting his roller on, got bored of linging and went to grab another lunge line and give it a go

He knew exactly what to to (obviousually from him driving... which was a whole new level of dangerous at one point, so he was nener trusted again) And he even went into 'driving mode' and set his shoulders in and really worked!
I honestly cant believe he took to it so well, all i said was 'walk on', thinking i would either get napping, gallop, or just confusion, but no! he just tootled off and turned and did exactly I said!
It may be a long shot but i really want to get him driving again, even if it means getting another coblet to go with him
