Long riding boots/ Leather gaiters for wide calves

Hi
I'm really struggling to find some long riding boots or leather gaiters that will fit my wide calves. I have very wide calves as I was previously a Highland dancer and am now a runner so require boots/gaiters that are 17" wide. I also need something that would be suitable for BHS stages - they state that you must wear leather gaiters if wearing short boots, chaps are not allowed.

Does anyone have any suggestions for boots that they have previously bought that fit very wide calves? Also looking for suggestions for yard boots that will fit too.

Fuller Fillies long boots should do the trick, they're not as pretty as some but are very comfortable and soft and would be fine for exams.

If you are tall enough, Ariat leather chaps in XL are big enough. Tuffa Breckland also come up and are fine for exams (they are smarter than the Tuffa Norfolk I wore for Stage 1 and 2 without the examiners batting an eyelid).

Tredstep do gaiters in a 17 inch width in several heights. The pro G-2's look just like long boots rather than chaps. Can highly recommend.

Mountain Horse do wide fit boots. My calves are almost 17in and I can fit into the Sovereigns and Richmonds

I had to sell my Ariat leather chaps as XL was too small. Wouldn't even nearly do up.

I second Mountain Horse though. My calves are probably about 16/17in and I easily fit in their wide (nearly fit in regular calf!!) I have a pair of sovereigns that are just beautiful! I was so surprised they fit as I've never found a long pair before, I used to struggle to even find gaiters!

Pretty sure my calves are 17" and only boots I found to fit were Toggi Calgary wide, (I was on limited budget so didn't look at anything over £100)

Bizarrely MArk Todd Gaiters are fabulous for wide calves - stretchy and smart - they shrink round my ankles and stretch round my 18" calves - you will have no trouble with 17"!
