I currently have the Mountain Horse Sovereign Boots for every day use which I absolutely love to ride in and they look super smart - however I don't find them particularly comfortable for walking around in general. I find myself putting them on just before I get on and taking them off the second I get off. I just don't feel that stable in them! My friend lives in her long boots as finds them super comfy (I must ask her the make!)! I'm usually an Ariat fan as they are like slippers and my older competition boots are Ariats but they have never really given around the calf so I can't get them done up on my own and I've probably put on a bit of weight since I last wore them a few years ago! Plus they are round toed and I like the square toed ones now. I'm just after some more comfortable boots that I can also happily walk around in to and from arena etc or when walking my horse round the arena - I recently did my ankle ligaments so they feel even less secure round my ankle now even though my ankle is mended! I'm 5ft 5 and I would say a regular calf. Not particularly wide or narrow.

I previously up until last summer always wore short boots and chaps unless competing but I love the feel of long slim boots now whilst riding as I get a better contact with the horse.

I had Ariat Telurides which I wore for all yard work, then put half chaps on top to hack/school at home. Incredibly comfortable for both, but I killed them after 18 months., despite being cared for. I now have a pair of Bareback Kentucky short boots doing the same job, and equally comfy.

Ooh these look really nice - I've not seen them before!

I've had both Mountain Horse Sovereigns and Veganza - the Veganza were amazingly comfy in the footbed! Very squishy. The Sovereigns were quite hard as I remember.

My De Niros were probably second most comfy. I have a pair of Ariat Palisades at the moment and don't rate them for comfort at all.

I have Ariat which I love, but am a recent convert to Bareback boots too. I have the Spanish looking ones. They are currently used for walking to dogs to the pub, but they will migrate to horses once my others have worn out. They are more comfortable than most!

I’m currently looking at the bareback boots (in particular the Quebec ones) - but I need a wide toe box - are they generous in that area?

Yard boots wear down really quickly so I'd never buy expensive riding boots and use for chores. Apart from maybe the country boot dubarry type things?
