ok, very long story, bought my warmblood last year to bring on and event, got on great at first, but had few problems as alway do with new horse etc, she then developed this allergy to the trees round our paddocks, after lots of attemps to stop her eating these trees and a nightmare autumn we decided it was kinder to sell her to someone with out these trees, so advertised her for sale, had lots of interest but unfortuently nobody took the allergy thing seriously, so ended up telling several people that they couldnt have her (was not gonna have her sold just to end up with same problem) eventually one girl decided she was perfect for her, was so pleased, perfect home, wanted to event her etc..no nasty trees, anyway they had her vetted and she failed on her eyes (the vet didnt get any further than this) was nightmare, propective buyers didnt want to carry on, anyway we went back to the woman i bought her from (who is small time dealer, just has a few young comp prospects in to sell at a time) who said her vet would pass the eye if we wanted a vetting done by her ( the eye has a non progressive cacteract on it that her vet passed when we bought her) she also said she would do an exchange for another youngster if we got a five stage done for ours, so tried a few and like one of them, so off we went to the vetting, passed the eye, but 1/10 lame on a circle and after flexion test!

vet said bring her back in a couple of weeks as was prob just a knock) we are planning on taking her back next week after had new shoes on, but is turning into a nightmare, she cant go out cos of the trees, cant lunge or anythin as no menage, she is apparently lame, although i cant see it, and no other vet will pass her, am so fed up as hate selling horses, not very good at it, thought this would be a good solution to the problem but what if she fails again next week?! help, any advice from people appreciated

sorry long post but running out of ideas

One tenth lame is very low grade... a different vet might pass her right now... the same thing happened with one of my horses. One vet failed him after a flexion test and 1/10 lame on near hind. Had him revetted, different vet, and he was 100% fine.

In the meantime could you not electric fence off a smaller paddock within your field so she can't reach the trees?

still leaves the prob of the eye, which the vet i use normally says wont pass, (only reason other vet passed it was because she is eye specialist so knows what shes looking at. we did try fencing of bit of paddock but he leaves are still everywhere, got most of them up but still causes a reaction which takes weeks to completly clear. have nasty feeling that im gonna have to sell her for less than shes worth just to find someone that doesnt mind the eye , allergy etc
