As title, need a new coat and might as well get a long one.
Friends have the new weatherbeeta one and lemueix one which are just what I am after but I really cannot afford the price.

Also another friend has this
https://uhipwear.com/women/riding-coats/long-trench-coat-mood-indigo-blue. Which is again near enough perfect and they do a wool liner to go in it. But all together that would be €400 ish.

So hho, can you recommend any bargains which would do the same at the above but without the price tag?

I have an Arian Madden coat. It’s excellent - very smart and covers saddle and thighs when riding. I rode in sleet, gales and driving rain last winter and was snug and dry.

I’ve just got the long Montar one. Haven’t tested how waterproof it is (only used in light rain so far) but it is smart and toasty.
The Ariat Madden is good, but I still got wet knees so have gone longer for my competition coat.

I bought a Musto Suffolk from eBay and I love it. Keeps me dry and protects the saddle. I’ve had other cheaper long waterproof coats but always struggled to keep both my knees and the saddle dry.

In desperation, and because I can’t take driving the hour home with soggy underwear any more, I’ve ordered a Stierna long coat and waterproof trousers. They’re used by the Swedish (?) mounted police and are v popular in Europe. Not at all cheap though so if these turn out to only be waterproof for a month like the hideously expensive Musto sailing coat I’ll be taking up an indoor only hobby!
