Longhaired dachshunds - where can I find one?

Have finally decided to take the plunge and get a dog! Can anyone recommend a breeder of longhaired dachshunds (mini or normal size), preferably not too far from the north east region? I will travel wherever necessary though!

Would prefer not to pay more than about £300-400, it would be a pet, not for breeding.

try through the Kennel Club - there are a lot of breeders in Shrops, Cambs, Lanarks, etc. I'm down south, so all the people i know of are likely to be no use to you! and i think you're going to have to pay more than £300-£400 - if its a miniature you're looking for! £700 is nearer the mark!

I have a mini longhaired daschund, got her from a breeder in Doncaster. However, as xMisunderstoodx says, I would be VERY VERY surprised if you can get one for your budget, they tend to be round the £700 mark!

Yes I've seen a fair few advertised at the £8-900 mark plus... however I did see two litters going at £350 and £400 (different breeders). Kind of following on from Misunderstood's post, if they are KC registered, and look like normal dachs puppies and seem healthy, should I buy one? (And not from a puppy farm either!)
