Hi,

I am trying to find some history/previous owners for my mare who i purchased 8 months ago. She is approx 15hh but is deceiving as she has quite a dipped back as apparently she was previously a brood mare. However she is very well schooled and a good jumper too. She is dark bay with a blaze, she has one white sock on her front right leg and she has old white scar hair on her hind cannon bone (this is one of the reasons i am trying to find her history as this leg is causing her problems). She did not have a passport (or this was not passed on to me/lost) and nor was she microchipped, but she has a freezemark of <>N5X, but the company who did this was ESS and they are no longer in operation. I have contacted Farmkey and they don't have any data on her.

This is very frustrating as i know that she must have been loved and cared for previously as she has had a lot of time spent with her. She is approx 19 years old, maybe more and this has only been determined by a veterinary check when i first got her as the person i purchased her from said she was 14 and told me she was passported but then gave me an application form for another horse??!! Anyway i was glad i got her as she seemed very neglected in a field in Irlam, Manchester and i have not heard very good things about the girl i got her from either!

Please, please if you think you know the horse who i have named Pippa, please get in touch. gemmatlane@hotmail.com 07854+082+127

Hi, not sure if this will help at all but a diamond prefix was used by ESS, which I think was Equine Security Services or something like that, I had a mare years ago which had a diamond then 3 numbers, they passed a letter onto the previous owners for me.

I'm quite near you but I don't recognise her at all. Why not take a picture or even her in the flesh to Urmston show and see if anyone recognises her? I don't think she has a dropped back due to being a broodmare, I think that is a classic sway back. Possibly genetic, possibly due to being ridden young. Could you PM the name of the person you bought her from?

Hi, thanks for response. Yes I hoping to start taking her to a few shows (just she became lame). When I enquired about her and they sent me the picture I asked about her back and that's when they told me that she was a broodmare
