Sasha foaled last night at 11.15, all by herself and has presented me with a colt by Aimbrey Chester! He seems a cheeky chappie and full of his own importance too. Just two white socks. Now to find a name.

I have no idea why, but I've just been inspired with Spike? As in Milligan.

The first name that came in to my head was Jester (as in court jester - as he's a cheeky chap)....

Thanks everyone, I am just a tad pleased which is a bit of an understatement for sure and Sasha is besotted with him; there isn't a hair on him she hasn't licked, especially those long ears!

PMSL at Spike, he'll get called Goon at some point I know!
Jester I know would get changed to Clown in this house but I do like both of them.

I wanted him to have a Chester historical theme name as there isn't much you can do with Sasha, so I'm thinking Roodee, as in our racecourse which could also be his stable name, Rudi, but I'm sure it'll all change once his character comes out and see what sticks.

That's a nice name - I've always said if I ever had a racehorse I would call it Jester's Tear, after one of my favourite songs

If he were mine I'd call him Chicane to go with Sasha - although unless you're a Kevin & Perry fan the reference will be lost on you

Congratulations! What a handsome chappie.

I own Chester's full sister. She's a bit bigger than him and a whole lot feistier! Talented though and identical to look at. How is your mare bred?

Well quite - it would be rude not to call him Goon

I like Rudi, but to me it's a name for a whacking gert German horse.

THank you.
Small world! Sadly, we haven't a clue how she's bred; lots of things have been suggested but I'm going with TBx for now! She's graded SPSS and has already produced the top mare at last year's gradings with them so he's got a bit to live up to!

PMSL! I was thinking of his great ears instead of a red nose but I won't be calling him Rudi now I've read that, put me right off!

Mind, if I call him Goon it won't be long before that becomes Rooney!
smile.gif

LMAO!! Sorry! It's just that I used to know a MASSIVE Hanno called Rudi - should have been called Sherman!

Now see to me, Goon would become Goofus......

LMAO!!!! I don't know what it is with you and your animals! I find it really easy to come up with daft names - Modgit

Mine I just give pretty much regular names to..... Boring!

Awwww, he's going to be a lovely smart chap isn't he? Gorgeous already!

Ours get silly names as derivatives, for some reason they are food based... the pony mare (Tini) was Meanie Tini the Sausage Beanie, Asti is Nasti Asti the Corned Beef Pasty; Ivy is Potato, Finn is Findus Fish Fingers... The only exception being Byter who is Eor the Manic Depressive Donkey or the brown baby!

I have no idea how we get to these. Seriously. Mainly my sisters inventions! The three mares also get called "glue factory, pedigree chum and corned beef pie" on occassion (very naughty occassions!)

Its all a bit too mental - I just call my two Ginge and Finnius...

I think we're all mad!

It's because it's a whacky household here, we're easy to clown up!

Hmmmm yesss and feel so at home there...... says it all really

Friend bred the most wonderful little horse called Sherman. He came out looking like a tank - and grew into an even bigger version!

I'm so jealous, I want a foal *stamps feet*.

Don't ask me about names as OH is thinking Wallace or Gromit for the next one....nooooooo.

Grace is going to Twemlows on Monday so will get to see Grafenstolz in the flesh.

Thanks for that!

No need to pm you at all. End House are very efficient and nice to deal with as are the vets. If you have the package that seems fair and a good price too. You could do a great deal worse if you didn't go to End House IMV.
The Humerist is a very nice horse and has had some good youngsters so good luck if you decide to use him.
