Couldn't find the tread of the mini jumping shetland but it looks like he's looking for a new home.

He's not a shetland though, he's a mini and at 27 inches it is unlikely he will really be a suitable 'ridden' pony IMO. Also, he may be little, but he is still a stallion so I really hope he goes to a good home - he's lovely!

Am I the only one who thinks it is not a good idea to jump a pony over fixed objects when the jumps are so big in relation to its size?

No, you're not the only one. Someone posted the link to the YT vid a while ago but I can't find it. There were some similar comments on the dubious nature of the 'jumps' (e.g. a person )

One happy pony though. If a bit closer I would be tempted to offer a home.

Dont be put off because he is a stallion, my lil shetland is stallion and is not a bother at all, not like big horses.

I agree with FDC - don't like to see him jumping so high - can't be good for his little legs and back
Also, on a more practical note as he has been taught to jump like that you are going to need very high fences to keep him in a paddock.

To be fair it is damn near impossible to keep a Shetland in a field anyway! They are the Houdinis of the horse world. But it will twice as hard if he is a field jumper.

And a stallion Raises interesting liability issues if the new owner wishes to keep him on a livery yard - a stallion with known talent at jumping

You guys need to think outside the box a bit more! This is a very flexible and intellegent little ponio- you'd need to teach him how to use an assult course... cargo nets, crawling under nets, swinging from ropes, rolling in mud! He'd never escape- he'd be having too much fun! Therefore no field jumping.

Besides I never saw him jump off the lead rein... he was always chasing someone!

Now that is an image that has made me smile! We have one on our yard and he has such character! But he is an escape artist extraordinaire! I will speak to YO about an assult course!
