Started the probably long process of looking for a horse yesterday by going to try my first one. He was a lovely mannered Welsh D with a gorgeous temprament but ridden he was just a bit too green for me

I am off to see an 8 yr old connemara x tonight, I tend to prefer geldings but this one is a mare, but never say never

It's all very exciting, but also quite unsettling as you have no idea when you will find the right one

How exciting! You'll know when you've found the right one i'm sure.
There seem to be an awful lot on the market at the minute which is frustrating as I was hoping to be back looking for another horse but now with knee issues then we've put it off.

Well, we went looking for a show pony for LR and FR and ended up with a fat orange shettie... but we wouldnt change him for the world. be open to what you are looking for, I have known some fab mares and some geldings that are worse than mares.

Good luck!!

Sounds like choosing your wedding dress

Same principles, try lots, even the ones you wouldn't normally consider and you will know when you've found the right one.

Good luck!
