My Lhasa Apso bitch is 4 years old and perfectly healthy and active. I am worried that as she gets older her joints will suffer like many dogs do. Is there anything I can do to prevent joint problems (without giving expensive supplements)?

I believe oil is a brilliant help, probably best check with a vet, which one may be best. Certainly less expensive that MSM chondroitin, etc.

Also, garlic is good for everything, I believe.

Do you feed her on the BARF diet? I think the odd raw bone with marrow, gives the things they may be missing, like calcium, teeth cleaning, proper oils and vitamins that they should have traditionally.

You could try Glucosamine, that is what my vet recomended for my dog and best thing about it you can buy it almost everywhere. My vet told me to go to superdrug for it as it was cheaper to buy there than to get it from him.

Keep her to an ideal weight especially given
her breed. You could give her oily fish a couple
of times a week. Something like pilchards in tomato
sauce will oil her joints.
