I've just treated myself to a pair of Ariat Glacier boots and am determined to look after them. The boots I have at the moment are Toggi Calgary boots and I only wear them to ride in but I will admit to only occasionally wiping them over with a leather balsam. So this time I want to do it right! Any tips or recommended products to use to keep them looking fab?

I've just treated myself to a pair of glaciers too and invested in the chocolate boot cream (Arita) and Dubarry leather conditioner which see,s to working really well, all the shop staff recommend the Dubarry stuff, a bit prices but you only use a little bit, once a week I clean mine

My daughter has some really expensive riding boots (name escapes me at moment) but she uses Requisite Boot Shine & Spray on hers. This easily removes the white grease that you get on the inside of your boots after riding. She then uses Kiwi Parade Gloss boot polish to shine the boots up. Her boots always look great.

Over the years I have had many pairs of leather boots and have found the very best thing is good old proper shoe polish, used regularly after wiping over the boots and letting them completely dry, apply a generous coat then buff. I then repray them with shoe protector you can get from any good shoe shop. So much better than the other stuff as it also puts the colour back into the leather.

Nikwax products, buy the appropriate one for the material of the boot, leather, suede, gore tex etc. If your boots have a gore tex lining be careful that your cleaner and conditioner are compatible to avoid ruining the waterproof membrane.

To put a shine on leather show boots kiwi parade gloss.
