Just wanted to see what you thought of her weight, well everything confo etc.

Shes a 16.2 ISH by Clover Echo she will be 5 in May, I work 9-5 mon-fri so only get to ride at the weekend over winter, so we have a session in the school and a nice long hack, then in the summer I aim to up her workload to 5 days and do a bit of everything.

At the moment she only gets haylege and the grazing isnt to bad, but reading the other post on good doers, im thinking that maybe I should be getting some supplements into her as shes still young??

What do you think??

This is her in the summer

Sorry not great pics, but all I have on photobucket.

Thanks S x

I bloomin love her. Certainly wouldn't hurt to give an all round multi vit suppliment - but I wouldn't be overly concerned.

Looks like she may be very well, as her bum looks a bit appley - but difficult to gell really from the photo.

She's just lovely though :D

What AM said:D

Lovely horse...plus she's a grey.

Take your embarrassed smiley off.......:D

I have to agree, she is lush!! She's not doing much tbh, so I wouldn't fuss about a supplement personally.

I wouldn't worry about supplements etc if she is happy with herself etc. My girls are only on hay and it's not long til Spring. The 9 yr old goes on at least one if not two 10-15 mile hacks plus 2-3 days in the school.

Thanks guys I love her to bits, shes such a sweetie, but a little fatty, im hoping bu upping her workload in the summer will keep her weight off, its so different for me as ive always had horses that need ££££ of feed and some and are still on the lean side!

She looks lovely, a general supplement wont do any harm but then its not essential...they went without for a long time before the feed companies have talked us into giving them extras now!!
I have to say i do love the purpple bandages!! She looks lovely and a gorgeous colour!! If she goes missing dont come looking in my direction :D

I think she is gorgeous, my mare looks much the same condition, was a bit worried i had been giving her too much hay, but she looks just the same as yours. My mare is wintered out 24-7 and during the cold winter have given her loads of good hay, she is rugged well enough and seems very happy, will be glad when the cold, icy wet or windy weather is over so i can get out hacking a bit more.

OMG I thought she was PRE before I read your post!!! Stunning mare.

*inserts smiley with loveheart sunglasses - but can't find one*

If she looks THAT good on just haylage and grass then I would like to move where you are!! There's loads of broad spectrum vits n mins out there, just make sure protein content not too high as thats how they bulk it out. Personally, I love pink powder as a general supp once in a while.

Ah thanks guys im glad you all like her, and Tallyho your not the only one that has said that, I had quite a few people last summer as me is shes a PRE!

* runs off to put a bike chain around her legs and the gate* ;)

Oh my dear Lord WOW - I LOVE YOUR HORSE!!

So thats yours, Deefa's Chestnut and Booboos Grey too!

Where does the Sire stand? Do they have a website do you know?
