Hiya, this is my first time posting on here so bear with me ;)
I am only 16 so soon i will be doing my driving test and getting my first car but i had an idea that i could buy a 3.5 tonne horsebox instead of a car. this is so i can move my 17.3hh warmblood around without having to get lifts with people and when i hopefully go off the veterinary college i will be taking him with me so need to be 'self-sufficient'.

So i'm looking for a 3.5 tonne horsebox of about 8ft internal height to take my 17.3hh boy in which i think is about the correct height but please do correct me of i'm wrong. It needs to be as cheap as possible so even though i don't want the structure integrity to be crippled too much with being 'cheap', it is going to have to be fairly used, i accept because of my budget.

My budget it around £3000!! :o I know it's not a lot for this type of horsebox but this is why i need your help!!

So basically i'm hoping to get some information on what would be the cheapest possible way of doing this and whether it is feasible at all!

Thank you very much

Matthew

To be honest it's not really possibly to achieve what you want on your budget. Spending £3000 on a 3.5 ton horsebox is going to buy you a 'money pit'. You will be forever spending on mechanics, parts & probably welding as well to keep it running & roadworthy.

Also having just passed your driving test it's inlikely you will have sufficient experience to drive one safely. I would buy a car & get experience & then after a few years & having saved some more money, try looking around for a horsebox that will be in better condition. :)
