Anyone got one that they don't need, or seen one for sale?

I'd also be interested if anyone's had one made up - who did you go to?

Thanks folks.

Warwickshire Trailers laughed when I asked this question - nicely, but apparently you just can't get them any more. Ifor bars can be cut down to fit though :)

I had a breast bar and breech bar made for my europa.

Yonks ago i needed one for my ancient Beaufort. Apparently they are all different widths due to age and use so we got the fittings from a spares person, measured up, bought the timber and made it. Added a carpet cover...would use thin rubber mat now.

I did wonder if you could make one from timber, but worried it might not be strong enough. Still, if I used a good thick piece of oak or perhaps willow (which I've got a stack of, an makes crap firewood). Sounds like the way to go.

I have a spare one I bought on the off chance it would fit my Beaufort. Depends whereabouts you are whether it's feasible and also what fittings you have in your trailer but you would still need pins for it (which are easy enough to get)

Yes, I had the same problem with Warwickshire Trailers, they laughed when I asked about one too!

Hi Maesfen. We're in Hampshire, just off the A34 - where are you?

Thanks Maesfen. Most of the time I'd be able to get to Larkhill, but not this weekend, unfortunately.

However, I think I've now worked out how to make one...
Top gate hinges fit the existing pins (I checked yesterday), so a stout 3x3 with a gate hinge either end should do it. Strong enough, and easy to cut to length. :)

It won't drop away when the pin's pulled, but should be able to push it forward or backward out of the fitting quite easily in an emergency. Not perfect, but better than the Ifor where if your horse has got half way over having tried to jump it you've got to find an alen key to get him off!

No worries. In the end it was quicker and cheaper to get my blacksmith to make one from just a plain round bar with the fittings on the end so easy to get down etc than if we had 'codged' the fittings on the old one.
