I'm currently looking for my first proper jacket preferably navy.. I'm coming up to my 18th and would like to start looking the part. I've been told to try and find an old jacket due to the better quality than nowadays... I'm a size 8-10 so probs a 36" with long arms! Ay one have any ideas of where I can source one? Or do I get one brand new, if so what make? X

ebay. Caldene, Mears, Pytchley, Bernard Weatherill are all good makes, also lots of people recommend the Shires hunt coats which are very reasonably priced new. Some hunt coats are 'waisted' like a 'frock coat' whilst others are normally shaped. (I paid quite a bit of money on ebay for a 2nd hand jacket without realising it wasn't the waisted style which I wanted.) You can get the check lining in different colours too.
