Hi
I am currently looking for a preferably brown leather saddle with a 16.5 - 17.5" seat for my 6yr who is gaining muscle so I would want one with an exchangable gullet.
Does anyone have any for sale or any reccomendations?
I was hoping to spend up to £650.
It would need to be a jumping saddle or a shallower cut GP. Also, can anyone comment on Bates or Kent and Masters Saddle.
Thanks.

I bought a Kent and Masters last september. Brand new £695, i love it.
You can also move the thigh and knee blocks to suit your legs.!! definately recommend.

Shame you don't want black!I have the Bates Caprilli jump saddle for sale in 17 inch. I only want £400 ono for it and its immaculate!

Bates! I tried a Kent & Masters dressage saddle when I was looking for a new saddle in October - hated it! I felt miles away from the horse and it felt awkward & precarious. Everyone seems to rate them though so may have just been me! I have never had a problem with bates however :)

kent and masters! mine brand new plus fitting cost about £750. horse recently went up two saddle widths and it was a god send otherwise i'd be looking at borrowing or buying a new saddle. saddler had it adjusted in less than 20 min

I have two year old bates and love it .Saddle fitter is out tuesday as my mare has radically changed shape again  and might have to look at something else:rolleyes: .Will let you know if I think of selling. Its black gp 16 1/2.pm if interested.

Bates. I bought a GP saddle for my mare was she was 4 as I could change the gullet to her growing shape. I loved it so much that I later bought Dressage and Jump saddles for her, also Bates. They break into your bottom very quickly and seem really comfy for my horses back. Sadly I had my tack stolen and the Insurance wouldn't pay out because I had the 'wrong type of lock' on my tack room! I am now slowly building up with an ancient Hawk GP, which she doesn't seem to like very much and the Bates dressage which my local tack shop has let me pay for monthly!

You tend to find that some horses fit into K&M and some into Bates. The trees are quite different shapes.

You can also get leather thorowgoods for relatively cheap.

Are you defo after a saddle with interchangable gullets? Lots of saddles now are adjustable - usually with a machine, by a saddle fitter.

xx

Another vote for the Kent and masters Cob Plus - it's cut for jumping, square cantle and is soo soft..... Although it says cob - it was recommended by my saddle for weight baring.... used it on my ISH
