I've been looking for a loan pony for a while now and can't find anything at all.We have one pony between 2 children and it really isn't working.Apart from the arguments about who rides first, who picks out her feet ect, hacks are a performance with one on a bike, one riding and then swapping on the way home. Our lovely 13hh pony is just a bit too big for the youngest and although she tries really hard, she'd be better on something smaller.

I've put up ads in local feed stores, checked them religiously for new ads,am haunting the Pony Club site and Preloved several times a day and have told absolutey everyone I know, horsey or not,but there seems to be very little,if anything at all around at the minute.

Is there anywhere else that I should be looking?
Thank you.

What a shame you're not in Surrey, I'm after a sharer with 2 kids using one pony for my Shettie X driving pony! Sharers here seem as rare as hen's teeth too.

When we were looking for a show jumping pony on loan we put a wanted ad on the pony club website. I was offered 3 very good ponies from that one advert.

Good luck in your search.

the best places in my experience are local feed / tack stores, as well as sites like preloved or oodle. It does tend to be a bit of a waiting game for the right one to come along, though. Give it some time, I'm sure you'll find the right one :)

Thank you all for your suggestions-I shall persevere with my searching.:)
I've registered with the Blue Cross and filled in one of their adoption forms.I've been looking on and off for 6 months now,and we bought the pony we've already got during that time as we couldn't find anything to loan then either-they all seem to be at the opposite end of the country to me,lead rein and naughty off it or second pony, not for novices.

My daughter is a small 6 year old, just starting to canter and jump. She had her confidence knocked by getting thrown badly by a pony we had on trial in the spring, but has got it back again after riding our 13hh all summer. We are looking for something between 11-12.2,not bothered about age,[older the better as our pony is a 20 year old mare]sex, breeding or colour. We hack around the villages so good in traffic, and ride around the farm,so good in open spaces and with livestock ect.If it has hunted or been to Pony Club, that would be a bonus!

We are in Leicestershire,if that helps anyone.:)

Thanks again for all the help,as a newcomer on here,I'm really impressed.
