I have a 4 year old that I have backed and ridden away myself. I am looking to find a new trainer for us pref dressage based who can help us out. My current one I feel is not the right person at this point in time and I feel like our basic schooling is going backwards. My horse is incredibly bright but needs someone who will keep him thinking and he is an extremely quick learner. I may consider sending him away for a month or so but it would need to be close enough for me to go and have lessons, this person would need to be small and light and used to dealing with young horses.
We are based near Bishops Stortford in Herts.

Who have you at presant? I really liked Kim Warren she was excellant for me and my mare, we have moved away! Julie Hugo was used by my friend and she thinks she is excellant. Totally unqualified but an excellant small rider who is currently bringing on a youngster of his own is Neil McHugh but he isn't in a horsey job so might not have the time.

If you have a bit of money and some transport, why not go to the Assoullines they are in near Braintree? It isan't easy finding someone but I hope you do, Good Luck!

The Assoullines are good and if they have the space will take your horse in for schooling but they are quite dear (a private lesson with them is £50 so who knows what schooling livery would be!)

I like Madeline Peal shes good but she only rides sensible horses- she wont get on my unpredictable TB mare for example)
