Trying to get hold of a Pessoa saddle but don't know what style. I had one back in the mid-90s which I loved - jumping saddle, flat as a pancake, no rolls or blocks. Am riding in a similar one right now and loving it - my budget doesn't stretch to a second hand Butet and a Pessoa would be my second choice.

The one I'm in must be 17" and has a Pessoa metal badge at the back, no blocks, slight curve of padding below the front of the knee. Nice brome colour.

I need to go get some pictures - but has anyone any idea of what these types of saddles would bE called? I know the one I'm in now is around 7-10 years old. Anywhere I can get hold of a back catalogue of these sabbles? Any good dealers/fitters.

thank you! Anna

Yes that looks like what I'm after - but what's the diff beteen even and SJ saddle? I just want a really close contact saddle for sj, I'm 5,3, not leggy and have a wide ish stallion with no withers and a tall TBxID mare with withers. They seem able to wear The same saddle with change of pads, strangely...

Something like the A/O would be ' hunter/jumper' saddle for the market it's really aimed at. Hunter saddles are generally lower profile, smaller blocks etc than those specifically aimed at jumpers, which can be a bit more jazzy or extreme, but basically there's no difference.

Must read for comprehension. . .xc saddles tend towards longer and more forward cut, so the rider can get stirrups up and behind the motion if necessary. Lots of people use one saddle for both jumping phases though. The fashion for xc saddles now seems to be mono flaps now, which.I'm not keen on, so not the best to ask. :)

Thanks everyone. Have had a closer look - its a Rodrigo and it is 17"M. Not sure how the Rodrigo is different to the AO. I'd consider a different style but don't want much in terms of knee blocks. If you know of one for sale please PM me as cant find anything online by just Googling.

Shame you are a year too late as I sold both of my extremely minimalist Pessoas last summer on eBay- may be worth checking on there?
