Hi,

I'm looking for a riding school for my daughter and would be grateful if anyone can recommend places / things to look for and things to avoid????!

We live in Navenby so happy to travel about 40 mins for the right place.

I currently share a horse but would be looking to get something for me and possibly pony for my daughter in due course.

Any info etc would be great!

:)

Hi,

Thanks for your post. Have checked out their website and they look really good, however it seems they mainly cater for those with their own ponies.

I'm really looking for a riding school where my daughter can use one of their ponies.

:)

i would recomend the paddocks at hough on the hill .they have some lovley horses, ponies and the owner ,instructor karen trains one of the british paralympic dressage team.it is a small bhs riding school everything is done properly.my 15 yr old learnt to ride their and now has her own horse is in the pony club etc.they also have riding schools at quarrington nr sleaford but dont know about them.i am not far from you.

Quarrington & South View nr Sleaford are good from what I've heard. There's also one at Brant Broughton called White Gate (or white post?).

Bulby is a PC centre as well as riding school. Clients ride school ponies - in fact, all ponies, (apart from owner's daughter's) are school ponies.

I have no idea where in Lincolnshire it is (north or south, who knows!) but I went to Castledyke Equestrian Centre when I was on holiday, and can safely say it is the best set up I have ever seen! Huge outdoor school, decent indoor, spotless spotless yard, PC, competitions, livery, everything!

it might be quite a drive but having been to quite a few riding schools weelsby park riding school is officially the best ive ever been to. the horses are brilliant and the facilities are really nice.

personally wouldn't recommend fourwinds or south view. hough on the hill have a fab reputation and church view in Swaton is good apparently.

I went to Southview a few years ago to 'get back into the swing of things', they were very good for me.

However they put my niece on the same pony which napped four lessons in a row, she fell off every time and at 4 years old she was petrified and it just wasnt fair so we left.

They have had a brilliant instructor there called Daniel but he left and I do not know what the other instructors are like.

I have heard good things about Hough on the Hill though...
