Hi

I don't know if anyone will actually be able to help but about 10-12 years ago my Mum worked on a racing stables in Tring - Peter Harris Racing Stables now Walter Swinburn - while she worked there my love for all things horsey started and it was mainly down to one paticular horse who's racing name was Northern Blessing (other horses there at the time were Grey Princess, Global Concept, Cobble Stone, Young President, Saddlers Blaze) she is still today the most gentle, soft and caring horse I have ever met I wasn't the only one who cried when she left. Because of this horse I got a job on a Livery Yard at just 12 and paid for lessons with my Saturday earnings.
Anyway while my Mum worked there Northern Blessing was sent to stud and we never heard anything about her again. I would love to find out where she is and how she's doing. Obviously I don't want to intrude on anyones life but its been nagging me for years not knowing, funny how much a horse can impact your life.

If anyone has any information or any ideas on how I might trace her I would be extremely grateful! I've had know luck what so ever with any google searches I've done. I would contact the yard but like I said my Mum worked there years ago and the staff are probably completely different and wouldn't know me or remember me at all.

Sorry about the long winded post!

Get in touch with Weatherbys. If she went to stud she will be in the Return of Mares each year, stating owner and who she was covered by. I can't see any reason why they wouldn't give you this info over the phone, although you have to pay for the book. Suggest you ask for the Stud Book department. Hope that helps. PM me later if you get no joy as I may be able to look her up at work.

How many years ago was she there- a friend of mine was the racing sec there for several years so might know more but your mums name and dates would be helpful then I can get in touch with my friend and see what she knows - Pm me the details and I will follow up.

Have just had a look on the Racing Post website and she has never produced anything that went through the sales ring and the last record of her is being sold at Doncaster Jan Sales in 1999 for 4,800gns to a Stuart Hudson. End of the trail via that route, would need a call to Weatherbys to get anything further I think, unless Bosworth's friend can help.

Just checked on NED & she's still recorded on there & registered with Weatherby's, so if any of the other's can't help, definately get in touch with Weatherby's. Good luck with your search.

Kollie,
Not sure if we are talking about the same horse here but we are the owners of Global Concept, born in 1996 in Kentucky. We got Glo in September of 2000 as a 4 year old. The story as we've been told, Glo was flown by Fed Ex from France to Del Mar, California as a three year old. The owner said he had purchase Glo from England and had raced him in France before coming to the states. He is 16.3, seal brown and a delight to be around. Could this be the same Global Concept you saw in the barn?
Ralf and Shauna, Orland, California.

Hi

I do remember a Global Concept really well I used to stand out side his stable for hours! He used to have his tongue out a lot (random, sorry) and have a radio in his box and at another point had a sheep to keep him company to stop him box walking. He was still at Peter Harris's now Walter Swinburn when my mum left there around 1999 (I think) so I guess it could be the same one. If it is the same one its nice to know he is OK he was also a lovely horse.

from what i can gather her 2005 filly is racing in saudi, still googleing so will post more in a while
Hi

Sorry to everyone that I have not replied I almost completely forgot I had put the post on here! But being up at 4am with a cough keeping me awake I thought I had better have a look! Thank you for replying that is really good to know she is still around. I don't think she was a great racer I have one picture of her winner at Windsor I think but I don't think she actually raced for most of the time I knew her.

Thanks again for everyones answers I will have a look at Weatherbys (I really should have thought of that!)

Kay

She was exported to Saudi. She's had 4 registered foals and of those 2 have been winners. Her 2007 foal called ALMODAJAL has won 1 race and been placed twice winning over £62000. Her 2005 foal called LE OYOUN LAMA has won 5 times winning over £48,000. The 2007 foal is the last one known, although she could have had some since.
