I posted a while back looking for a yard in this area, but ended up remaining where I was. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, I have now decided to recommence my search

I have a youngster who needs turnout every day during both the summer and the winter, even if it is just for an hour in the winter period. I also require a decent school which is floodlit as both horses will be out competing most weekends at affiliated dressage.

If it is further than 15 minutes away from where I live in Chorley then I will require someone on the yard who can do some mornings/evenings for me. Ideally it would be a place that offers part and full livery for when I go away on holiday.

I would prefer it not to be a huge place, and somewhere that turns mares and geldings out separately as my horses are out competing and I would like to reduce the chance of injury as much as I can (without wrapping them in cotton wool that is).

Depends how far you are willing to travel really... There are quite a few people on here who are on yards like you describe in Lancashire. In fact, I think one actually owns a yard in the Kirkham area (LuckyLotti I think...)

hi,

becki is correct, i have a yard nr Kirkham, Hill House Stables, but we are rather full at the moment - you are still welcome to come and have a look around thou as we have a few liveries planning to move out of the area hence their stables will be available (ps - anyone know of any yards nr Edinburgh that has all year turnout as shes struggling to find somewhere suitable for her horses)

if you want to look at our site its www.hillhousestables.com and that has a lot of general info on and also a picture page.
