Looking for an event horse. Should I buy from a dealer or private?

Has anyone bought from Wendi Sheridan in Suffolk? Or sold a horse through her? what were your experiences like?

Do you think it is better to go to a dealer, who hopefully has a reputation to maintain, or buy privately, where there is no comeback at all.

Looking for event horse 16hh to 16.3hh for daughter. Daughter is 6'2" and probably still growing!

Although you technically have more comeback with a dealer I have recently taken one to court and won for not honouring her warranty. I still don't have a refund and have the pony which the judge ordered she should pick up. My advice would be to ask on here before going to a dealer and look carefully at their reputation. The one I bought from returned the court papers marked gone away even though she is still advertising horses at the same place.

That sounds awful! Really time consuming and expensive. Hope it works out for you in the end.

Very hard to find out about dealer's reputations.
